How Semaglutide works

Read these results in context. SELECT enrolled adults aged 45 or older with established cardiovascular disease, BMI 27 or above and no diabetes. STEP 1 enrolled adults with overweight or obesity without diabetes; both groups received lifestyle intervention, and the glycaemic-status analysis was post hoc. These outcomes do not make Wegovy a substitute for condition-specific care. Individual results vary.
The treatment rhythm

The FDA-approved schedule escalates the weekly dose gradually over 16 weeks: 0.25, then 0.5, 1, 1.7, and 2.4 mg. Your physician may delay an increase or return to the previous dose if side effects are significant.
